My Three Chambered Heart Reptile Natural History Museum

My Three Chambered Heart’s Reptile Natural History Museum is located directly off I-64 in Gum Spring, VA. We are convenient to the RVA area, and an easy drive from Charlottesville.

Opened to the public in December of 2023, our museum is an immersive science experience. We aim to improve science literacy and cultivate a love of learning. We currently have over 65 different species of reptiles on exhibit as well as hundreds of natural history specimens (bones, fossils, skeletons, etc). Our museum also offers several hands-on opportunities: our unique displays allow guests to “see” the science and test their knowledge. There are always reptile meet-and-greets and feeding demonstrations offered through out the day.

Admission is $15 per person, and children 2 and under are free. Most groups find they spend 1-2 hours with us, sometimes much longer. Outdoor picnic tables are available for those who would like to pack a lunch or snacks. We even have a gift shop with fun reptile souvenirs!

Our museum is wheel chair accessible. However, our exhibit space can get crowded during busy periods so we encourage families with younger children to use baby carriers or smaller umbrella strollers instead of larger strollers that may be difficult to maneuver.

Phase 2 of our museum is in the planning stage, and we hope to have our exhibit space double by winter of 2025. Stay tuned for details! We can’t wait to share with you!
